short term teams working at girls\’ safe house in Chile

Praise God we raised over $600.00 towards re supplying the library with research materials.  The big item on the list is a Spanish language encyclopedia set - theirs is from 1964!  We hope to find one for around $300.00 and use the rest for other study materials to help out their schoolwork research and make learning fun again.

The winners this year were Rachael and Alyssa with the highest $$ vote of $190.00.  Thank you to all 13 chefs who partipated and made the wonderful chili in many styles and heat ratings - Drew edged out Jack by just a bit.   Many thanks to Mimi, Cherie, Arlene, Jennifer, Arlene, Stan and Spike for preparing the event  and to the many hands who helped to clean up afterwards.

Praise be to God, people who love made from scratch thanksgiving pies purchased 206 handmade pies. You raised over 1500.00 towards work projects in Chile - all of which goes to directly benefit the chicas. The amount to date raised for the 2008 work trip is just over $6000.00

Buenos Dias - Good morning, many thanks to Esparanza Covenant Church for providing background music to the auction. Based on all the generous bidding over $4,600.00 was raised to directly benefit the girls in Chile. The Hogar is already working up a list of work projects for us when we arrive in late January. There will be painting, remodeling, repairs and time spent with girls in fun activities and a dinner for all of the staff. More updates later this winter. Thank you again,
