012409 Saturday night recap

The boys looking over the roofFitting the drywallHola,

Busy day today and Anika did the commentary for today - please click on the link to listen to her description of the day.

We had breakfast together - all very healthy cereal and fresh peaches, nectarines, bannanas and pourable yogurt for cereal.  For lunch and supper we had fresh tomatoes, cucumbers, avacados, zuchinni and that was just the salad!  Seriously, even Jeff is eating well and likes the food.

Sue and Gary took us downtown - markets only open in the morning on Saturday and then we got to work.  The ladies build some cool games, while Kyleigh and Anika taught a 4 year old girl how to ride a bike!  The four guys put up a drywall ceiling in the teaching kitchen and then started putting soffit up on the health directors house - left over from the roof Stan and I did last year.  At 5p the ladies took 26 girls down to see the circus in town.  After supper we worked on the soffit until it got too dark.

We are all heading to bed now,

Praise God for his protection and care and may we keep our eyes open to his direction here and make an impact in the community for Christ.

Safe arrival at Hogar El Alba de Ninas

Kyleigh and AnikaStarting the unpackingHola,  all us of us arrived by tonight along with all of our luggage.  Several people have some interesting tales to tell, but that will come from them.  We were swarmed with chicas and tias when we arrived.  The new front gate is up and working and the driveway approach is now a cement incline instead of a constant washing out gravel one.  Sue is happy with all the chica stuff you helped supply us with and Monday night the Tia’s will be going through and disbursing them on a as needed basis.

Buenos Noches, Kyleigh, Anika, Ruth, Jeff, Dan and Felipe

Lima airport morning

Hola,  A bit of sleep and we are ready to go - although coffee would be helpful about now.  We can see now that we are the base of the Andes mountains next to the Pacific Ocean.  God has protected us so far and we are looking forward to arriving in Osorno tonight.
